Dog Holidays in Croyde

Dogs LOVE Croyde, and we love our furry friends and know that they are part of the family too, so welcome them in many of our properties.

Croyde is a very dog friendly village and you will find that most places accommodate and welcome dogs, so you are not restricted in finding places to go with them.

There are some great walks in and around the area. The village of Croyde sits in a bay surrounded by beautiful, natural countryside.  The majority of the countryside surrounding Croyde is working land.

There are a network of public footpaths that criss-cross the entire area. Most of the paths around the village are well maintained and form loops, enabling a pleasant walk of one or two hours, around the village. Other paths that go further afield are less well maintained and can be challenging, making for a more adventurous and longer walk.

Read on to find out about some of our favourite walks and take a look at our photo gallery to see some of our Holidays in Croyde doggy clients having fun! Want to join the gallery? Send your photo to admin@holidaysincroyde.co.uk

BRAUNTON BURROWS.

Sooooo much to sniff! One of the most popular dog friendly walking locations in the area is Braunton Burrows. Hundreds of paths twist and turn in amongst a variety of sandy dunes, grassy planes, marshy wetlands and small wooded copses. Keep walking far enough and you will reach the sea, perfect for a cool down!

TARKA TRAIL.

The entire Tarka Trail is a 180 mile, figure eight loop traversing the majority of North Devon’s finest scenery. Combining stunning scenery, you can walk for miles and splash around in gentle bubbling streams.

Dog friendly cafes line the route, so make sure you plan a refreshemnet stop for the humans.

BEACH WALKS .

Restrictions on Croyde Beach do not permit dogs between 1 May and 1 October, but this does not mean you cant feel the sand between your pads! You can explore the network of sand dunes and sandy paths behind the beach all year round.

There are plenty of beaches nearby such as Saunton Sands, Putsborough and Woolacombe beach that do allow dogs all year round.

NAP TIME .

After a full day of fun, its easy to find a sunny spot in one of our dog friendly gardens and settle down for a nap!

CROYDE BEACH

Because of its location, Croyde beach remains unspoilt by development. The dune system and the rugged headland of Baggy Point serves as a buffer, protecting the beach and giving it a sheltered, self contained feel. Well maintained, Croyde beach is clean and consistently wins awards for its water quality. In season, the beach is protected by a dedicated team of lifeguards who manage the waves so that swimmers, surfers, body boarders and kayakers all get a fair share of the surf!
